I run marathons regularly, but the only thing I have never understood is why marathoners are given pickle juice?
Probably because it certainly has some impact on training and exercise, but what exactly is it about?
Not believing the words about all the positive properties of pickle juice, one girl decided to find out exactly what it was.
According to experts, pickles juice is rich in antioxidants that fight cancer, contains vitamins A and E, is good at regulating the digestive system and regulating blood sugar levels.
So I decided to drink a glass of pickles every day for a whole week.
Here’s what happens:
I love to eat pickles, but I was still scared by the idea of drinking pickle juice.
It took me a while to muster up the courage and drink my first glass.
I was pleasantly surprised by the taste – it was strong but mostly dominated by salt. Although it has a lot of vinegar in it, it wasn’t too sour.
The second day I had menstrual cramps, so I was hoping the juice would help.
So by the end of the day, the cramps were gone.
It has become normal for me to drink cucumber juice. After work, I went to training – and I was ready for cramps. I was sure the morning would hurt me.
I was sure the muscles would hurt me, but they didn’t hurt me.
I was pleasantly surprised by this, thanks to the cucumber juice.
I continue to feel no consequences of strenuous training.
The juice has already become quite normal and an integral part of my day.
Another advantage of pickle juice – it does not cause awful breath even though it has a specific smell.
I was happy that my little experiment ended – not because I didn’t enjoy it, but because I would eat pickles again like all normal people.
The experiment was successful.
I can’t tell if the pickle juice has regulated my blood sugar levels or helped me to lose weight, I’m sure it has resolved my cramps and bad days.
Its biggest advantage is practicing, and I will definitely drink it in the future.
I recommend it to all my friends.
