Cymbopogon, commonly known as lemongrass, is native to Asia, Africa, Australia, and tropical islands, and this plant belongs to the family of grasses.
Some species (especially Cymbopogon citratus), usually grown as culinary and medicinal plants because of their smell, resemble lemon (citrus lemon).
Lemongrass is widely used as a culinary plant in Asian cuisine and as a medicinal plant in India.
